Stuff

Well… life is good.

My bro got a Wii. Yes, I still want an Xbox 360… but a Wii is good I guess. It’s fun so far… besides, I still have a PC… so I’m good. Right now we just have Wii Sports, which is fun for some random enjoyment. We’re working on getting a WORKING (as in, our copy doesn’t work!) copy of Zelda and perhaps Metroid Prime Corruption or Fire Emblem for the Wii too… all good stuff…

Also I had Medieval Total War II: Gold Edition! YES! TOTAL WAR!!!!! I WILL CONQUER ALL!!!!

Okay… real me is back… :D. My insane side got lose for a bit to long… :p. Total War… you must know what this is? Turn-Based 3D (for Rome Total War and Medieval Total War II, the previous titles are a 2D map) map, 3D real-time large scale battles? Managing empires as you conquer all who oppose you in time periods of Total War? Assassinating enemy generals and faction heirs and then swooping in for the kill? Making alliances with factions and then destroying a common enemy, only to then turn on your weakened neighbor/ally? That my friends is Total War.

So yes, I am England, I’m currently conquering Wales and France, and after that I think I’ll go ahead and take Ireland and try killing the Vikings. If that fails… well… Scotland looks really nice.

In other news… I should be holiday soon, fun, fun.

Demonhunter rocks. Metalcore rocks. Rapcore Rocks.

Hmm… the above… what does it mean? Well… I’ve been “acquiring” music for the past… umm… few months. Some of it I’ve actually bought, the rest my relatives have given me. So I now have a lot of music, all the good real stuff… metal/rock/raprock

So…

Most of POD

Storm the Gates of Hell – Demonhunter (amazing band!!!!)

Some Pillar

Skillet – Comatose (another amazing band!)

Most of Switchfoot

Hmm… that’s the best that I’ve gotten.

So… on with life

Update and stuff

I’m back in Texas, which means I’m back in a stable location. This is a good thing.

Now… my trip is nearing an end, I have many things I need to do.

1. Figure out how to pack 40k, RPGs, and the like

2. Order last 40k and paints

3. Buy random stuff

Yep… that’s my list… anyways…

My fantasy world is going great! I have a good bit of info set up and hopefully I can start finishing up some cities soon. Right now I have four locations that I need to build on

NYC – Gang infested land

Mumbai – City of Wolfs

The Great Plains of America – Biker Gangs and Rogue Vamps/Wolves

The Valley of the Dead - Not much…

Ya… so that’s what I’m doing with that. Also, working on how an RPG system would work with this place. I’m think how a dice pool system would work, probably using a D6s or D10s, leaning towards the D10 since it’s an easier number generator… but the D6 is more common…

If I don’t use a Dice Pool system I’ll probably end up using a Percentile system. I like the tactical nature of a Dice Pool.

Wait… what is a dice pool you ask? Well I’ll give an example.

I’m in a fight and I chop a guy with my axe. My axe chopping comes from my strength. Let’s say I have a strength of 5, which means I can role 5 strength dice before I run out of dice. So I could role on die every round or 5 dice in one round or any combination thereof. After that, I need to wait until I get my dice back. This can happen in a vartiety of different ways. Right now I’m thinking a stat that effects the speed of which you gain your dice back. Something like Luck or Fortune… and for every point of Luck you get your dice back faster. Something like this:

Luck 0 – You never regenerate your dice. You are as good as dead.

Luck 1 – You regenerate one die per stat per day. You have bad luck, watch out!

Luck 2 – You regenerate 2 dice per stat per day. You do not have good luck, be wary.

Luck 3 – You regenerate 1 die per stat per hour. You have average luck.

Luck 4 – You regenerate 2 dice per stat per hour. You are lucky, the goods smile on you.

Luck 5 – You regenerate 3 dice per stat per hour. Your luck is above average, you can afford to be careless.

Luck 6 – You regenerate 4 dice per stat per hour. Your luck is expetional, your life will be long.

Luck 7 – You regenerate 5 dice per stat per hour. Your luck is akin to that of the God of Luck Himself!

Luck 8 – You regenerate 1 die per stat per minute. You are a god!

After that you just keep adding dice, so luck of 9 is 2 dice per stat per minute and Luck of 10 is 3 dice per stat per minute and so on.

I like this system because it makes the players think, how should I use my dice? Basically, you will only have as many dice as your dice pool is at max for one round of combat. So a Strength of 5 character will only have 5 dice before he needs to rely on a secondary skill. Some powers could borrow dice from other stats perhaps…

Anyways… I’m going to go brainstorm. If you want to comment, do so here.

Easter Update

Wow… I haven’t blogged in a LONG time…

HAPPY EASTER! I guess that’s the first thing that’s in order, since Easter was yesterday. It was a good Easter, right now I’m with the Pilong Von Alfred family, and its rather fun. CJ (17, male) is, as always, awesome. Cherith (8, Female) is wow… really grown up and Lindsay (15?, Female) is cool I guess… I dunno… haven’t really talked to her.

So… what have I done whilst here? Lol… I just used whilst… rofl… anyways... back on topic. First off, I got all of POD’s albums, plus a few other bits of stuff, I’ll work on getting some more music later. Second off, I went to Church with the Pilongs, very interesting service. Really good worship… and the sermon was decent. I’d go again for sure.

What else? I was with the Garrets last week… with my cousins Mikey (6, Male) Joey (3 or 4, Male) and Jacob/Jakey (2, Male). They are something else… Mikey is the only six year old I know who has the word “dude” in his vocabulary. Joey is really cute, as is Jacob.

Also, I’ve pursued my GM’s handbook for Fireborn and I have a pretty good idea of how I’d run a campaign for my PCs if I do. Lol, it’ll be interesting seeing which ruleset we use for our Rps in Dhaka… 40krpg, WFRP, or Fireborn? Fantasy, Cyber Punk, or Modern+Magic? Low-born heroes? Servants of the Inquisiton? Or Dragons Reborn?

Oh… POD definitely rocks.

Anyways… fantasy world is going good, got two decent pieces of fiction going. One is set near what is now New Delhi, India, the other in New York City.

Well, after a long wait, I’ve finally managed to start my first PBP game as a GM… it’s all great fun! I’m liking all my characters… its really amazing how a person with little, if any, writing skills can so easily make up well designed characters and the like…

Anyways… the things on 40kterra (www.40kterra.com/forums) in the RP section...

As another note, I visited Uni of Texas this weekend… I won’t be going… to big, and, to be honest, I didn’t really see them selling their school to me. After visiting Baylor and having their school REALLY be sold to me… I’ve decided that if a school really wants me, they’ll sell themselves to me… I’ll be visiting two other schools, Mary-Hardin Baylor and St. Edmunds this week… both of which I think will good.

My 40k army is going nicely… I assembled my sorcerer and will be working on him as time goes along… assembling my rhino and predator is an absolute PAIN… I’m so glad I won’t be buying many more of tanks… they are a pain to assemble…

Anyways… on with life…

Update... finally... sorry for the delay...

Wow… I haven’t blogged in a while… well… anyways… here I am… time to get typing…

So… what’s happened since then… I got a ton of 40k stuff… I finished Neverwhere (very good book… I recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy and/or has lived in London) I went to Baylor University… and umm… ya… lots of stuff.

Anyways… Baylor… it was good… nice campus… seemed like a good school… I guess I’ll be applying to it, assuming I have a chance of actually getting in. The good thing is that all they care about is my SAT/ACT score (which ever I choose to submit) so that’s great. Anyways… next Saturday I’m going to see the Uni of Texas (UT), and I believe the week after this I will visit Mary-Hardin Baylor… so I have a lot of places to visit.

40k… *sigh* I have WAY too many models… and I need to order Jacob’s stuff… that will get complicated… anyways… I need to talk to my mom about that… plus I need to message Ikarus…

Anyways… hmm… what else is new… nothing really… darn… no wonder I haven’t blogged… my life is boring. Lol.

Oh! Before I forget! Fantasy Flight Games, a Board Game and RPG company bought the rights to WFRP and Dark Heresy! Dark Heresy is ALIVE! ALIVE I TELL YOU! (not that it had actually died… but you know what I mean… I think…)

Anyways… so I guess that’s all I have to say about my life…

Dark Heresy.... and other stuff... but mainly... Dark Heresy

You know… I have a lot to talk about… lots of stuff.

First off, I am reading a very good book… I stopped Bitterwood, but I’ll finish it later. Right now I’m reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman… I recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy books. Second off… I… got… DARK HERESY! To anyone who likes roleplaying games, dark tales, warhammer 40k, or anything related to any of this, buy this book. While I am not too fond of how the game does it careers, it works, while I’m sure there are some things that could be changed and made less confusing (the psychics rules are messing with me right now… I still haven’t completely gotten how many pychic powers you should get, etc) but, the point is… the game is quite cool. It hits the theme of 40k right at its heart, everywhere. There are some amazing full color and black-and-white artwork that makes me want to grab a pair of autoguns and hunt down the enemies of man.

Anyways... if I ever get to play Dark Heresy I’ve decided that I’m going to play a Hive Wolder Guardsman… some sort of mercenary/IG who has the standard Hive World gear… either dreadlocks or a Mohawk, several tattoos, lots of cigarettes, and a pair of big, archaic, guns. I’ll be the guy who wants the biggest guns possible. You know, the guy who goes a bit insane, but is so amazing in combat? That’s me. Either that, or a man from an Imperial World who has a penchant for sniping… or maybe I’ll play a Tech-Priest from a Hive-World, one who desires only to please Ommissah? Darn… too… many… ideas…

Anyways… what else have I done? Honestly… I don’t know… everything sorta just seems to be well… a faint memory compared to Dark Heresy, rofl.

Anyways… I’ve started as GM on 40kterra… so far I have two guardsmen an a scum, while two of my characters still haven’t figured out what they want quite yet. I think I’m going to get an arbite and something else… not sure what, maybe assassin? Anyways, it’ll be cool….

Oh… in other news, I have devised a political system for a fictional country. Well… I should say that me, Naomi, and Michael did so. It was part of our school work, it was really coolio. Here’s a paragraph that, in brief, describes what we did. Mind you, we’re still not done, we need to work on the economy, and other stuff, but this is a rough draft of how the countries political system should work.

The Country of Freedonia is a combination of five local tribes and various foreigners who have lived within its borders for several generations. Each of these groups (the five Freedonian tribes and the one white “tribe”) will be able to elect members to the Lower House of the Freedonian Congress, one member per 20,000 people in said tribe. This Congress, once assembled, will have one year to organize itself and choose from amongst itself 12 members, two from each tribe, who will form the Higher House of the Freedonian Congress. This Higher House, once elected and put into office, will have the total of six weeks to elect from amongst themselves a President to preside over them, this President will be , for all intents and purposes, considered the Head of the Government of the Freedonia.

Ya… so that was my Civics for last week… it was really fun. I can already see some problems with the government, and not everything we have is noted in that paragraph, so it still needs some work, but, its mostly good. In all honesty, I think that it’s really good.

Oh… also, I bought the 1st book in Tad William’s trilogy (?) Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn… or something like that. Haven’t started it yet, but it looked good, and Brian said that it wasn’t bad… so I’ll be reading it after Bitterwood and Neverwhere…. Darn, I have to many books… I have like… two others I need to read as well… though one of them’s actually a collection of short stories… not an actual book… so I don’t mind just reading random parts of it for awhile.

Ah… well… I need to get to Science… today’s a Friday, so it’s the last day of school… I’m going to enjoy the weekend… the combination of a Laptop and Dark heresy… it’s the closest to Heaven that I may ever get… lol.

See you next time!

Lost...

I’m a very bad boy.

You see… last night, I watched Lost. Very bad boy.

Of course, it doesn’t help that my mom watched it… but, actually, I think I’m glad… sure, Jack, Sawyer/James, Hugo/Hurley etc are all a bunch of idiots sometimes… but I think I can get over that…

Anyways… not much else to tell you guys… except to watch Lost… join the ranks of the brainwashed and insane, watch Lost, watch Heroes, watch House… you know you want to.

Oh, and above all… DO NOT WATCH AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!! EVIL , EVIL, EVIL! Understand everyone? No one is to watch this evil show.

NOTE: I forgot to post this... it was written on feb 1
